Redsun Dried Fruit & Nuts (Pty) Ltd objectives and targets is focused on improving environmental performance in key areas and provides a framework to address the priorities we have identified in our current organisational and external environment include:

  • Optimising energy use and reducing harmful emissions using clean energy (solar) as an energy source.
  • Optimising water consumption and effluent through recycling and through responsible return to nature.
  • Innovating packaging solutions
  • Minimise waste through recycling where possible.

Redsun consider environmental management as a systematic approach to finding practical ways for saving water, energy, and materials, and reducing negative environmental impacts.

Redsun are constantly developing, implementing, and monitoring our environmental strategies to promote sustainable development.

SOCIAL

Redsun Dried Fruit & Nuts (Pty) Ltd forms part of the local community. We aim to ensure job security and opportunity that is sustainable within the scope of our abilities. However, we also pride ourselves on contributing towards Sosial Economic needs where needed the most.

The objective of our community activities is to deliver a sustainable societal impact. This will be achieved by engaging in long-term partnerships with charitable organisations and focussing on key issues and target groups. This strategic investment in the public good is supplemented by funding initiatives within our local communities.

We support charitable organisations with donations of products or services. Furthermore, we support charitable organisations by using other resources available to us, including the time and skills of our employees.

An additional area of activity is the cooperation with non-profit organisations within our local communities.

In our local community, we are committed to improving health and education, and support other social and ecological causes with the aim of contributing towards sustainable development.

ETHICS & GOVERNANCE

Redsun is committed to ensuring full compliance with the ETI Code of Conduct to the best of its abilities and to ensuring that all internal procedures and practices are suitable for that purpose.

The ETI Base Code is an internationally recognised code of labour standards for businesses, founded on the conventions of the International Labor Organisation.

Redsun focuses on:

  • Conforming to all requirements of the ETI Code of Conduct.
  • Complying with national and other applicable laws and other requirements to which the Company subscribes in the matter of social accountability.
  • Respecting the international instruments listed in the standard ETI Code of Conduct.
  • Reviewing its policy regularly to continually improve, taking into consideration changes:
    • In legislation
    • In its own code-of-conduct requirements
    • In any other company requirements
  • Seeing that the policy is effectively documented, implemented, maintained, communicated, and made accessible in a comprehensible form to all personnel directly employed by, contracted with, or otherwise representing the company.
  • Making the policy available to all personnel, in an effective form and manner.

We are committed to acting professionally, fairly, and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships we build with our employees. Redsun will constantly uphold all laws relating to anti-bribery and corruption and adhere to the SMETA Standard (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) requirements in combating any form hereof.
